So, do you think that Christmas has gotten better in the past few years?

I mean really, with the amount of money that was spent on Christmas in Ireland in 2007, I think could very well have been the equivalent to a small countries GPA. Just joking!

But in saying that, I wonder how many children in Ireland (and adults) have remembered the reason for Christmas? When we grew up Christmas was a wonderful time, the excitement of getting something in the stocking and under the tree was almost impossible to contain. But we never forgot the meaning of Christmas. My sons, as old as they are, still say Happy Birthday Jesus on Christmas day.

Perhaps the economic climate the way it is now is just what the doctor ordered for Ireland. Now people may stop and look spending time with their families instead of money on them.
